Testing and checks
We provide dedicated emergency lighting checks for commercial premises. Monthly functional checks confirm operation at the time of the check. The annual full rated-duration test assesses the agreed fittings over their rated duration, with safe arrangements made for access and battery recharge.
Records and defects
Results are recorded in the agreed logbook or service record. Defects are listed clearly with practical recommendations. Remedial works, replacement fittings and new installations are quoted separately. Emergency-lighting testing is separate from fire-alarm testing and EICRs.
Planning the visit
We agree the fitting count, access and timing in advance. For duration testing, we plan safe arrangements while batteries recharge and consider how the premises will operate during the test. Larger sites are quoted separately.
Indicative prices — NO VAT
Annual full rated-duration test: £195 for up to 20 fittings at one site; £7.50 for each extra fitting. Results and defect report included. Monthly functional check: £95 standalone, or £45 alongside an already booked visit, for up to 20 accessible fittings with a logbook entry included. Larger sites are quoted separately. A written quotation or agreed work order confirms scope and final price.
FAQs
Is a monthly functional check the same as the annual test? No. They are different checks with different purposes. Is fire-alarm testing included? No; emergency lighting is a separate service. Are defects repaired during the test? Remedials and installations are separately quoted after the findings are explained.
